9/11 and Hero Dogs

•The picture essay is to be 1,200 words (+/- 10%)

This essay involves identifying a theme or issues, selecting a number of images that featured in media coverage, and analysing the media-based discourse on a subject related to 9/11. You have to employ semiotic analysis.
The following criteria will be considered for the picture essay:
-Research: depth of reading and demonstration of understanding of academic texts and critical concepts covered in lectures; correct use of academic citation and style. Note: a minimum of three academic texts must be cited in the essay.
-Analysis: sophistication of analysis applied to the subject of your essay
-Image choices and discussion: suitability of images used and discussed, degree to which they support your essay’s arguments, creativeness displayed in choices and analytical arguments. Note: Essays should feature a minimum of five and maximum of seven images.
-Overall presentation: Essay structure, grammar, accuracy and overall writing
