Writing Assignments Guidelines
This is an argumentative paper.
Clear and original thesis statement that is supported by your evidence throughout your paper.
Write 8-10 pages.
Use at least 6 source.
3 books
3 articles from jstor or other scholarly articles/credible sources
You can supplement the 6 sources with other legitimate sources from other scholarly articles, “Transatlantic Slave Trade Database, Voyages”, research libraries repositories, or accredited university scholarly websites with authors. (Run your scholarly articles by me. If I don’t approve of them, you cannot use them.)
Avoid websites where the articles do not have authors.
Work Cited Page on the Final Paper (bibliography on the prior submissions)
Footnote citations
Citation Style: Turabian or Chicago. (MLA is the format…font, margins, page numbers, etc.)
Avoid first person in your paper. Don’t say, “I think that….” Or “I am a believer in…”, etc.
Avoid using contractions such as: Don’t, can’t, didn’t, etc.
Avoid personal anecdotes such as: “I saw one day in the store that this black person was being mistreated by a employee…”
Try to be less opinionated, and let the evidence speak for itself.

The second research paper assignment is going to consist of you writing an introductory paragraph with a thesis statement, and a bibliography. This statement will state what it is you are going to be arguing in your paper. Also, your bibliography will consist of at least 6 books and articles. This assignment is worth 2.5 % of your grade. Your thesis statement will be a part of your introduction.
