Determine the state in which you plan on seeking licensing and research the following:
Locate the licensing board website for that state and note the name of the agency and website location.
Identify the levels of licensure for social workers in that state and the requirements (documentation) to apply for licensure (level of education, number of references, background check and finger prints?, etc), amount of application licensing fees
Continuing education- identify the amount of continuing education required each year or each 2 years to maintain licensing
After completing this research, construct a 2-3 page reflection discussing your findings. Discuss a plan and timeline for when you will apply for licensing and any resources you may utilize to assist you in studying for the licensing exam. Be sure to include a conclusion/discussion section at the end of your reflection for you to summarize your findings and discuss which information you already knew, and which information was new for you.
