Purgatory is the space between Heaven and Hell, where souls await their fate. Kaczynski and Gottlieb enter — they haven’t met before… or maybe they have – you decide.
They are souls from different sides of the American system.
Gottlieb was a chemist and spymaster; an elite governmentagent from the Cold-War era CIA.
Kaczynski was an isolated and embittered, but brilliant man who had been a victim of the MK ULTRA program that Gottlieb devised and created.
In Purgatory, they enter the Justice Room, where the Archangel Michael presides. Michael is a scarier being than eitherKoczynski or Gottlieb, known for fighting Evil with the power of Good.
Michael informs Kaczynski and Gottlieb that The Christ has decided one of them will be saved and the other damned. The Christ has asked Michael to decide who will be saved or damned.
Michael will decide their fate based on how well Kaczynski and Gottlieb can argue that they deserve Heaven and the otherdeserves Hell. They each have one chance to make their case.
Judas Iscariot enters and hands Kaczynski a shekel to toss forwho goes first.
