1. Explore the cultural resources for weeks 7 & 8 and explore topics related to these countries on your own. Choose ONE cultural point that interests you: a celebration, custom, area, ritual, historical event, modern practice, etc. Create a post discussion (“Blog”) where you share what you have learned and your impressions. You are also welcome to research related topics on your own! Your blog should consist of 200 or more words. Please include photos and/or a short video (see below).
***I realize that there have been many topics covered in previous weeks, but try not to repeat themes that have been covered (for example, Christmas) unless it is something very unique to a place and has a distinct cultural celebration. The countries we are covering this week have really interesting cultures with a great deal of indigenous history to explore, so I do not think you will have trouble with topics.
2. Then, respond to a classmate’s blog with an appropriate response of 100 or more words. This response should be thoughtful, respond to the post’s content, and be constructive in nature if appropriate. You may ask questions as well.
3. Revisit your own blog and please respond to any classmates that may have posted questions. Make an effort to respond factually.
Things to consider:
FIRST: Read the other blog entries. Topics should not be repeated. In the case of repetition, the first post will receive credit. (This should not be a problem as the topic is quite broad.)
Your blog entry should be original, not copied and pasted, and should consist of at least 200 words in English.
You may share any related words, phrases, and vocabulary that you have learned regarding this context. This should be in addition to your 200+ words.
Explore the week’s resources on the cultural topic but also feel free to research on your own.
NEW: Please include images, interesting videos, and/or links (in addition to your 200+ words). These MUST be appropriate and show/link properly. (No foul language, bad behavior or mistreatment of the culture in any way.)
You might compare and/or contrast what you have learned with your own culture and/or experiences.
Please observe the rules of proper English grammar, including capitalizing the first word of the sentence and correct punctuation.
Avoid stereotypes and overgeneralizing, but rather focus on topics and comments that are unique, interesting and educational.
I look forward to reading your blog entries this week! Gracias
