Case studies, Interviews, and Field Research

Case studies, Interviews, and Field Research
In Unit I, you were introduced to the research process and methods and asked to develop your hypothesis and questions. Unit II introduced research designs, reliability and validity, population sampling, and variables. In Unit III, you are introduced to case studies, interviews, and field research. As you develop your research proposal, you must make decisions regarding the research design, methodology, reliability and validity, and data collection methods. This assignment asks you to evaluate and determine if a case study, interviews, or field research would answer your research hypothesis or research questions.
Part I: Discuss the following.
Discuss how a case study design could be used to answer your research hypothesis.
Discuss how field research could be used to answer your research hypothesis.
Discuss how interviews could be used to answer your research question.
Part II: In the Unit I Scholarly Activity, you developed your hypothesis and research question or questions. In Unit II you were asked if the hypothesis and research questions need to be revised. Based on what you have learned in Unit III, discuss how your selected research design will answer your research hypothesis and questions.
Note that sometimes, revisions to the hypothesis and research questions are necessary. If you feel revisions are needed, go ahead and make them. If no revisions are needed, justify your decision. Keep in mind you will be developing a quantitative research proposal.
Part III: Based on your revised hypothesis and research questions, answer the following:
Recommend whether a case study or field research method would be appropriate for your research proposal.
Recommend a quantitative data collection strategy involving case studies and field research methods appropriate for your research proposal.
