Interpreting and writing up results is an important skill for
researchers. In this assignment you will be given results from a study
(instructor will provide) and be expected to interpret the results and describe
the implications in a brief report.
Include
a brief introduction, results and discussion section. Use at least 2
academic articles in your report.

Grading Rubric for Written Assignments
A+ (90 – 100%)
The paper is outstanding, coherent and exceptionally written
covering all aspects and all the learning outcomes of the assignment. Writer
negotiates issue(s) with clarity and care in an evidence based approach. Writer
has developed novice idea(s) that are logical, appropriate to the context and
practical. The positions of others are represented in the assignment
accurately. It has few errors and provides a coherent convincing discussion
enabling the reader to gain insight into the issue. Precision of language is
excellent and follows the APA accurately.
A (85 – 89%) A- (80 – 84%)
The paper is very good, coherent and well written covering
all aspects and all the learning outcomes of the assignment. Writer negotiates
issue(s) with clarity and care in an evidence based approach. Writer has
developed known ideas that are interesting, logical, appropriate to the context
and practical. The positions of others are represented in the assignment
accurately. It has a few minor errors but provides a coherent discussion
enabling the reader to gain insight into the issue. Precision of language is
very good and follows the APA accurately.
B+ (76 – 79%) B (72 – 75%)
Overall the paper is understandable and covers most aspects
and majority of the learning outcomes of the assignment. Writer negotiates
issue(s) with some care. Writer has developed general ideas that are relevant
to the context and practical. It’s not clear to the reader due to
contradictions in logic or lack of support for some statements made; this made
the paper only somewhat convincing. The paper demonstrates less clarity and
precision compared to an A grade paper. It addresses the assignment but has a
few errors; it represents others’ positions with some accuracy. The reader can
gain some insight into the issue. There are some inconsistencies in language
and APA format.
B- (68 – 71%)
Overall the paper is somewhat understandable and covers some
aspects and some learning outcomes of the assignment. Writer negotiates
issue(s) with less clarity. Writer has developed ideas that are somewhat
relevant to the context and less practical. It’s not clear to the reader due to
contradictions in logic or lack of support for statements made; this made the
paper less convincing. The paper lacks precision compared to an A grade paper.
It addresses the assignment but has several errors; it represents others s’
positions with some accuracy. The reader gains minimal insight into the issue.
There are several inconsistencies with language and APA format.
C+ (64 –67%) C (63 – 60%) C – (56 – 59%)
The paper is difficult to understand as it
addresses the assignment without a primary focus, thesis, or purpose. Claims
are supported by incoherent/inconsistent evidence. Writer has achieved learning
outcomes to a minimal extent. There are many inconsistencies in articulating
thought, organization and/or logic, all of which prevent the reader from
gaining insight in to the issue. The essay has many errors. Paper does not
represent accurate positions of others. There are many inconsistencies in
language and APA format
