Recall a situation involving yourself, someone you know, or something in the media in which someone’s beliefs were skewed by bad thinking – e.g., by one of the psychological or philosophical obstacles to critical thinking discussed in the lecture notes and in Vaughn, chapter 2. Once you have a situation in mind, complete the following:
What was the problem with their thinking? Be specific. Reference Vaughn, chapter 2.
What negative consequences resulted (or could have resulted) from the situation? Clearly explain.
What could have been different if the person’s beliefs had not been skewed by bad thinking? Explain.
