choose an emerging technology and investigate its application to an issue in law enforcement intelligence. To do that, pick your topic and do some preliminary research into it. Then formulate a research question about the subject to guide your review of the literature on the subject. The thesis of your paper will be the answer to that research question.
The result of your inquiry will be a 12-14 page academic paper that examines some aspect of how this new technology impacts law enforcement intelligence and should include both original research into the subject matter and any relevant themes from the class such as the government’s legal authority to use the technology to enforce the law along with any privacy and civil liberties concerns.
