Must read the entirety of Reyna Grande’s memoir. Upon reading the memoir, students must
submit the following:
• 12 point font, times new roman, 1″ margin all around. An 8-page term paper that compellingly summarizes and analyses Reyna and her
family along these three main themes:
o Life in the home country
o Migration process and experience through theories in our course
o Settlement and incorporation experiences through theories in our course
▪ including but not limited to analysis of education, language, and
familial life
• Must include a map in which you trace a line through her migration journey north,
from her exact hometown in Mexico, through her migration entry point, to her arrival
in Los Angeles
• Must include a Works Cited page at the end (this page does not count towards the
required 8 pages)
• Must include 5 in-text citations to texts/books/articles/films covered in our courseEX: -Film: “Which Way Home” documentary & Reyna Grande memoir introduction (her immigrant
and settlement experience serves as an experiential case study for your Final).
