Author.
Title of the reading.
Thesis as you determine it to be after a once over reading.
Three quotes from the reading, enclosed within quotation marks and including a signal phrase, that support the thesis that you wrote down. Only the first quote per reading needs the complete signal phrase; the second and third quotes just need either the author’s last name at the beginning of the quote or in the parentheses after the quote. **Reminders about what is in the signal phrase beginning the quote: author first and last name, credentials of the author, title of the source, hint about what is important in the quote to follow.
Two to three sentences about how each quote that you chose supports the thesis. (**This part is not a summary of the quote but an explanation from you about what makes the quote an important support for the thesis argument.) Also include any personal connection/example that occurs to you<--great addition!!
At the end of the reading log, your overall reaction in two to three sentences to the main message of this reading. Agree? Disagree? Include any relevant personal experience. This part is after the reading log is complete and important to your overview of the reading.
