Brain Invesitgation Research Proposel

The assignment is a research proposal. The following instructions were given to me by my professor:

Start by choosing a research question – what is it you want to find out? Why is it important? What will the results tell us?

The proposal must include a detailed methods section specifying how
they will use a research technique that has been covered in class. The
assessment is designed to demonstrate students’ understanding of the
different research techniques covered in the module. Whilst students may
include different techniques, for example, behavioural measures, these
should be secondary to a primary study that is based around one of the
research techniques listed below. Students should also ensure that the
research technique they describe is the most appropriate for their
intended research question.

The proposal must detail one of the following research techniques:
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
Function Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI)
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Magnetoencephalography (MEG)
Psychophysics
The proposal should be divided into three sections which have the following weightings:

Introduction – 35%
• Summary of relevant literature
• Why is the study important?
• Present a clear rationale for the study in light of the existing literature
• Outline the proposed research question and hypotheses
Methods – 50%
• You must make sure your chosen method is the most appropriate for your research question
• Must use a technique covered in class
• Demonstrate that you understand how that technique works
• You can include other techniques (e.g. behavioural methods) in a secondary capacity
• Participants, material/apparatus, procedure
• Describe how the research technique will be applied
• Enough information for the study to be carried out
Data Analysis – 15%
• What kind of data will be generated?
• Brief outline of analyses and expected results

Your work should be fully referenced in standard APA format.
