Using
course readings, lectures, three outside sources and your own ideas develop a
thesis statement and critical essay in relation to one of these topics.
1. The
ethical and practical implications of punishment

Compare and evaluate retributive, rehabilitative and restorative justice
3.
Justice needs of victims, offenders and community
4.
Restorative justice and the law
You are expected to demonstrate
your ability to synthesize
course material and use critical thinking skills. This is not to
an assignment that is about simply summarizing the readings. You will us course
materials to support your thesis statement and bring in a minimum of THREE
additional academic sources per essay to add depth and breadth to your writing.
Essay should each be 6-8
pages in length (not including references or title page), double-spaced in
12-point font and APA style.

Demonstrates knowledge through

Inclusion and use of THREE related, updated quality academic sources 3
Demonstrates critical thinking skills 7 Composition (spelling, flow, grammar,

Essay should have title and
reference pages, clear thesis statement, introduction and concluding paragraphs
and body paragraphs that each contain a new idea. No point form.
