Define what they were, how they impacted the colonies, and the reaction of Americans. Were your acts repealed by Parliament after colonial protests?

You will answer ALL THREE essay questions. For each, you need to develop a well crafted essay on a WORD DOCUMENT. You MUST provide citations for your answer with page numbers from the textbook, supplemental readings, or dates from your lecture notes. You need to approach this like you are writing a small paper. Double space, paragraphs, proper grammar, etc. I am not giving you a length. Simply answer the questions. But you must answer all parts of the prompt in complete sentences and proper structure. Points will be taken off if you do not cite where you got your answers and if you do not answer all parts of the prompt.

DO NOT USE OUTSIDE MATERIAL. IT WILL NOT BE GRADED!!!!
You must submit all three of the essays as one word document or PDF to Canvas by 1159pm Sunday 6 March.

2. Following the Seven Years War, the British Parliament enacted punitive measures against its British North American Colonies. British colonists in North America believed that they did not have a proper say in this action. Why did they think that and how did the British respond to their beliefs? Identify three actions taken by Parliament and explain how they impacted and influenced affairs in America.
Regardless of what you pick, you need to start out by talking about how Americans were represented in Parliament. Were we? And how did the British claim that we were?
Explain salutary neglect and how it worked. How did it strengthen the colonial assemblies?
Chapter 5 is where you should look.
Pick any three acts, your choice. But you need to identify them and give a date.
Define what they were, how they impacted the colonies, and the reaction of Americans.
Were your acts repealed by Parliament after colonial protests?
Also- you need to discuss what the colonists were seeking in the acts you chose. Were they seeking recognition of their British liberty or were they seeking independence?

In class, I spent a long time talking about three mistakes (or strikes) made during the Revolutionary War that I argue cost the British the war in the Americas. Simple question- define the three events in chronological order and in detail. Why did I argue that each event contributed to British defeat in the war?
Note: these three events are not identified in the book or supplemental readings. The events are mentioned in the book, but they are not grouped together like I did for our lecture. So do not list events from the book. This comes solely from my lecture.
