At the completion of this assignment the student will be able to:
Describe an awareness of patients as well as healthcare professions spiritual beliefs and values and how those beliefs and values impact health care.

At the beginning of the semester, all students will be divided into groups and sign up for a topic relating to Health Assessment and MUST address the government initiative Healthy People 2030. This topic will be the basis for a group presentation and classroom discussion.
This assignment is divided into two parts:
Part 1 – Group presentation
Part 2 – Student facilitated group discussion
Part 1 – Group presentation
After choosing a topic, the students will be expected to:
Investigate the topic and find one (1) journal research article on the topic, to present to the class.
ALL Articles need to be verified by the instructor during Week 2.
The presentation should be short, no more than 5 – 7 minutes and be an overview of the journal article.
The presentation may be a video your group creates or your group can present live to the class. Live presentations must have a PowerPoint, poster board, etc. to help you present.
Be creative!
Each member of the group will be required to present at least one minute during the presentation.
The presentation must be:
Clear
Concise
Summarize the article
Include relevance to nursing/health care
Delivered the presentation in five to seven minutes
Part 2 – Student facilitated group discussion
At the completion of the presentation the class will discuss the article and answer the following questions:
How does this topic relate to nursing health assessment?
How does the nurse conduct an assessment to identify this issue?
What health promotion interventions should be implemented to prevent and/or alleviate this issue?
The groups will be given 15 – 20 minutes to discuss the topic, the journal article, the questions listed above, and answer questions from faculty and students.
The classroom discussion will be facilitated by the student presenters.
Each member of the group will be required to contribute to the discussion.
