In this course, I have asked you to watch The Men Who Built America mini-series documentary to understand how organizations were originally created in the United States. Please answer the following questions from this documentary based on the knowledge from your textbook. I expect at least half a page for each response. Yes, you would need to watch all 8 episodes!
1. Consider what you know about Theory X and Theory Y. Describe how at least two of the “Titans of Industry” fall into one or both of these management styles and why? Be thorough with your response.
2. The decision-making chapter discusses the satisficing process, bounded rationality, and intuitive decision-making. Did any of the individuals mentioned in this documentary follow some or all of these procedures? Why? Be thorough with your response.
3. In the system and cultural approaches chapter, you learn a lot about the systems metaphor. Describe how one of the business leaders mentioned in this documentary managed their company under this structure. Be thorough with your response.
4. The emotions and conflict chapter discusses four ways of handling conflict. Describe how one of the titans and/or employees of that particular organization handled conflict in each of the four ways.
5. The emotions and conflict chapter discusses workplace bullying. In your opinion, do you consider these “Titans of Industry” as bullies or are they just shrewd business persons? Overall, what were your thoughts about this documentary?
Hello so there are 5 different questions for this assignment and for each question I need a HALF PAGE response (minimum) and they are related to 8 episodes on the Men Who Built America (i will attach a link to the website with all 8 episodes.. it takes a sec for the video to load and it is completely free) Each question correlates along with a chapter in the textbook which I have attached below.
1. Question 1 correlates with chapter 3 in the textbook
2. Question 2 correlates with chapter 8 in the textbook
3. Question 3 correlates with chapter 4 in the textbook
4. Question 4 correlates with chapter 11
5. Question 5 also correlates with chapter 11
