Describe the differences between descriptive, inferential and multivariate statistics.

Question #1: Last week you learned about the various types of variables used in descriptive statistics, provide just a brief summary and explain what the differences are between each of the four types of variables and give examples of each.

Question #2: Describe the differences between descriptive, inferential and multivariate statistics. Describe 2 types of tests used in descriptive and two types of tests used in inferential statistics and two types of tests used in multivariate statistics. Describe why a researcher might use inferential versus multivariate or why sometimes both of these statistical types may be used together.

Question #3: Look at the article that you are using for your quantitative research critique and determine if descriptive, inferential or multivariate statistics are used in the study. Based on your understanding from last week and this week’s readings describe which statistical tests are used in your quantitative research study. Determine if these tests are appropriate for the data collected by the researchers for your quantitative research. Provide support for your answers using the readings from the module and from the chapter readings from this week. (this discussion and feedback can be applied to your quantitative research critique paper).

Discussion Protocol. Please observe the following 3 x 3 rule: when writing your weekly discussions (applies to the original discussion posting): – A minimum of three paragraphs per DQ. Each paragraph should have a minimum of three sentences. All sections of the question need to be addressed. Remember that peer responses need to be substantive and extend the original discussion posting by making connections, relating to others’ ideas and adding supporting detail. Refer to grading rubric, to receive full credit each portion of the discussion posting must be addressed along with the 2 peer responses. The 2 peer responses must be substantive and add something to the original posts and should be a minimum of 4-5 sentences but can certainly be longer.
All answers or discussions comments submitted must be in APA format according to Publication Manual American Psychological Association (APA) (7th ed.) 2019.
Discussions must have a minimum of two references, not older than 2015. First post by Thursday 11:59 PM weekly and respond to two peers by Sunday 11:59 weekly.
