Expanding the Literary Canon

Writers of color, women, and LGBTQ writers were in existence during the Modern era but likely lacked the resources needed to publish officially. While straight white males led the pack of writers and poets, there are lesser-known published works out there that deserve to be reviewed as candidates for the literary canon.
Your task will be to read and analyze your discovered novel/novella and argue to prove that it deserves a place on the Modern Novel reading list—if not in the canon itself! You can also use the tenents of moderism to prove why this book fits in with any other book we’ve read this quarter, use a high level of thinking when crafting your thoughts!
