Discuss enhancing and changing the game with the introduction of technology?

This week’s assignment should reflect the broader topic of ethics as it relates to technology in sport. We won’t be looking at a direct example as we have in the past, but rather discuss holistically if ethics plays a role in sport/competition and how that relates to the introduction of enhanced technology in sport.
One of the biggest ethical issues related to sports is the use of technology. Fans want an improved sporting ‘experience.’ Audiences want to see athletes break records. And athletes themselves are intrigued by utilizing technology to improve their performance. Improvements in performance would become very rare if technology was removed. But can (and do) companies, sponsors, owners, etc. cross an ethical line with the use of technology?
I want you to research how (or if) ethics are a part of sports. I then want you to spend time thinking about ethics in the context of technology and sport. How does it relate? Is it important to consider ethics when you discuss enhancing and changing the game with the introduction of technology? Do you think leagues give the ethical component enough thought in today’s culture? These are a few questions to consider.
Do research. Find examples of controversial ethical dilemmas that have taken place in the past. Cite your work accordingly. Provide YOUR opinion on the topic. Add original thought.
The articles below are examples of the subject matter and can be utilized in your discussion (if you so choose).
