Choose a company you would like to study and post it to the Mid-term Discussion Board by midnight 2/14/22. No duplicates.
Create a 5-7-minute presentation with PowerPoint and upload your report (approximately 5-6 pages) to Safe Assign by midnight Sunday 3/6/22. Upload PPT to discussion board before class on 3/7.
When developing your presentation consider the following:
Provide brief background on the company or organization and its current status.
Determine its “publics”.
Review several media/press releases and analyze them. Discuss their good and bad points and what you might change. Who is being targeted with the message and what different media are being used?
Discuss the company’s public relations efforts, who, what, why, when, where and how?
What media channels (including social) do they use for public relations and how?
How do the company’s public relations efforts influence public opinion?
Do their public relations efforts build brand/image/value/identity? Give your point of view.
How are their public relations efforts portrayed on their website? Is the website consistent with their public relations message?
Find portions of their media kit on the website. Critique them.
Has this company had to handle a difficult situation? How did they perform?
What do you conclude about the company’s public relations strategies? What would you change?
