Taking into consideration our journey into Ethnic Studies, especially with respect to Native Americans, please respond to ONLY ONE of the following questions:
Question 1 (50 points):
Discuss the course of European colonization in the Americas by taking into consideration Columbus and his establishment and the immediate impact on the native population in the Caribbean. Also, explain the importance of Bartolome de las Casas and discuss the impact of disease on Natives in the era of colonization and today.
OR
Question 2 (50 points):
Discuss resistance in reference to Native America from the 16th to the 19th century and explain the importance of the Wounded Knee Massacre and the impact of Boarding Schools. Explain the pros and cons of the Indian Citizenship Act and the importance of Native Americans in World Wars.
