The goal of this assignment is to argue an important, odd, significant, profound, interesting, etc. idea directly from the literature. In order to figure out what you will argue, you must take notes during your reading. There is no way around that. You must annotate. You must read critically. You must connect your argument, in its most basic form, to a literary theory.
