Ethical Argument Essay

Ethical Argument
The second major paper of the semester will be an ethical argument. An ethical argument
proposes whether something should be done because it is good or right (or not done because it is
bad or wrong). The argument should be tied to an ethical principle that will be used to
develop a chain of logic that guides the reader to an ethically correct conclusion. The
successful argument will contain a thesis statement that asserts a claim and forecasts the essay’s
structure. Your essay should be written on an ethical concern specific to your discourse
community. The paper must be typed in MLA format using 12pt. Times New Roman typeface. A minimum
of 8 peer reviewed sources used as support, and they must be cited at the sentence level with all
sources appearing on a Works Cited page. The sources should come from the library’s
databases. The paper must be a minimum of 1500 words or more.
