Choose an area of emphasis by examining the titles of chapters in the book or the titles of the sections of this syllabus (e.g. human communication, drug abuse, reproductive behavior), narrow down the topic to an area that could potentially yield interesting research that examines the intersection between cultural, ethnic, or gender and biology (e.g., bilingualism, genetics of alcoholism, gender differences in pair bonding behavior). The paper will explain how human behavior is shaped by the intersection of culture, ethnic, gender, and biological factors.
The paper (8-12 double spaced pages with a minimum of 15 references from peer reviewed journal articles) is expected at the end of the semester.
