explain Plato’s distinction between opinion and knowledge as drawn within the Meno
and, then, within the Republic. How
are these two accounts of the distinction related – e.g. is one a consistent
development of the other? Is either of these accounts of the distinction sound? Justify your answer. Be sure to consider objections that other
philosophers that we have studied in this course would raise against this
account.
