You will be required to undertake a health needs assessment focusing on a specific population group that are of interest to you. The health needs assessment should be based on a specific, defined locality: North Lincolnshire. Region: Yorkshire and Humber You will be required to gather and present data to identify the size and characteristics of your population group and the types of health needs they have. You should then discuss the psychological, social, behavioural and environmental factors that determine these. Finally, you will be required to critically evaluate current policy and health improvement strategies that relate to your chosen group and propose areas for improvement. Learning Outcomes to Achieve: (Written report) Demonstrate a comprehensive and critical understanding of the psychological, social, behavioural and environmental factors which influence health, illness and health improvement practice throughout the lifespan. LO2. Demonstrate a comprehensive and critical understanding of public health policy and frameworks and the ethical issues associated with public health practice LO3. Synthesise and integrate evidence from a variety of sources to identify and evaluate health risk and determinants within specific population groups. For Poster (written overview) should link directly to written report as will present this verbal overview of the poster. Your poster should demonstrate how you will put one of your proposed areas for improvement into practice. You will need to select and justify appropriate approaches to health improvement, models and strategies for behaviour change and methods of communication for your target group.
