This page provides some greater detail on the individualized project. I recognize that the majority of you will not find yourself working in a traditionally defined “functional HR” position. As a result this project is designed to allow you to take the topics and concepts we have covered in class and apply them to your current role in your organization as well as developing a plan for individualized development. The project entails four distinct parts as follows: Part 1 – Identify one or more specific HR challenges within your organization. Identify potential factors that contribute to this/these issues. Consider the organizational implications from a strategic perspective. Analyze the impact that this/these challenges have. Develop specific suggestions for how your organization might address these issues. As a component of this project please also provide relevant context such as a brief overview of the company. Additionally, consider the factors that led to this HR challenge. This component of the project will be evaluated on the following criteria: Brief overview and background of the organization. Provides relevant context for the HR challenge. The HR challenge is clearly identified and explained. Be sure to explicate how/why the challenge relates to HR Clear discussion of the implications for the organization with a focus on how it relates to the organization’s strategy. Suggestions for how the organization might address the issue are clear, reasonable, and feasible. Focus on providing justification for your suggestions and explaining how/why they would be effective.
