*At least three scholarly source; the dictionary, Bible, sparknotes.com, gradesaver.com, Cliffs Notes,
etc. do not count as scholarly sources. At least one of the sources must directly address (in a substantial
way) the literary text(s) you are analyzing. The actual text/story doesn’t count as an outside source;
however, it must still be cited properly if it is used.
Question:
In Esperanza Rising, Esperanza experiences an abrupt change in her socioeconomic status. Critically analyze
the ways in which Pam Muñoz Ryan deals with class, money, and privilege in the novel.
