Using all of the readings, lectures and notes, compare and contrast the origin of existence, the deities (forces comprising existence), energies in existence, order of existence, parts of the human personality, and the ideas about destiny and life purpose within the Kemetic, Yoruba, Bakongo and Akan traditions. In your last paragraph of your reflection, conclude with what you find most meaningful within these traditions, given all that you have read and written.
For full credit, be sure to craft a reflection that synthesizes a response to these major questions: what are the similarities and differences in concepts and themes? discuss the source of existence; the process or unfolding of creation; the forces comprising existence and power/hierarchy within the scheme; the purpose of creation; and major themes that the creation narratives attempt to convey. Also discuss the role of human destiny and whether it can be changed or not within the three traditions. What new insights and applicable ideas do you take away from the readings? In other words, explain how these ideas are in anyway meaningful to you.
You must evidence that you understand each tradition by using key ideas from within the text. Please do not use outside sources for this particular assignment. I want you to demonstrate that you understand the readings for class and that you are able to interpret these ideas.
