Political: From the earliest slave rebellions, petitions, and court cases to our own contemporary times we can see the major influence that African Americans have had on creating a society that has become far more inclusive than when the first African people were left on the shores of the English colonies in 1619. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965 are two well-known victories for African American rights, but further investigation will uncover countless others over the 400 year history of African American people
