English 101 Essay #1 Instructions and Requirements
This first essay is designed to satisfy all four of the course CLOs:
1. Critically analyze readings;
2. Differentiate between credible and non-credible sources;
3. Incorporate credible sources through summary, paraphrase, and quotes, and document according
to MLA conventions to avoid plagiarism;
4. Demonstrate competent control over written language, academic form, style, and tone.
I would like for you to show off that you can do all these things by constructing a 1250-1500 word essay
with an introduction, at least three body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Your essay assumes that your
reader is very familiar with your assigned reading but not with your or your instructor’s opinions about it.
The introduction eases your reader toward the subject of your essay and includes your essay’s thesis.
The first body paragraph(s) should contain an objective summary of one video containing your
instructor’s views. This task should correctly use literary present tense and should correctly include
at least five full quotes, five partial quotes, and the rest can be paraphrase without plagiarism.
The next body paragraph(s) should contain a subjective analysis of why your opinion is different from
your instructor’s in no more than two ways. Difference can come in the form of outright
disagreement (“I disagree with Anders because…”) and/or of noticing something unmentioned (“I am
surprised that Anders doesn’t mention…and this is important because…”). This task should correctly
use literary present tense, and its word count should equal or surpass the word count of the summary
of your instructor’s views. This task can include quotations, but they are not required.
The final body paragraph(s) should contain an objective summary of one topic of research applying to
your chosen chapter(s). This task should correctly include at least one quote from each of your five
minimum sources, with at least five being full quotes, five being partial quotes, and the rest being
paraphrase without plagiarism. Please do not research the author of our assigned book, and do
not cite Wiki!
The conclusion should repeat your thesis (but not verbatim) and ease your reader to a closing.
Please do not mimic the creative content (i.e. hook and closing) of the “A” example essay because this
can be interpreted as a form of plagiarism.
I look forward to a digital copy of your essay being turned in via TurnItIn by the date and time
listed in your class’s syllabus and in your class’s gradebook.

THE WHOLE PAPER NEEDS TO BE EDITED IN MLA FORMAT. I am attaching my paper and I just need you to edit not rewrite the whole thing. the prof is very strict with grading and format. the whole paper is mostly done except the Mla format and grammar editing and also the articles I used for the 3rd paragraph need to be cited, please.
