Putting It All Together
This week, you will develop a PowerPoint presentation reviewing the theories from each module. Please select one theory from each module (1-8) and answer the following questions. You should have 2-4 slides per theory with a total of 8 theories discussed.
In Module 1 we are took a closer look at nursing theory and the life of Florence Nightingale and how Nightingale’s Model (Environment Model) applies to current nursing practice.
In week 2 we were focusing on the theories of Peplau, Henderson, and Orem. These theorists helped elevate the profession of nursing from simply completing tasks assigned by physicians to establishing a therapeutic relationship between nurse and patient. Health and healing of the patient became the focus.
In week 3 we are turned our attention to theories of the 1950’s and 1960’s. The focus at the time was on how the patient interacts with the environment and what part the nurse plays in this interaction. Theorists of this era include: Dorothy Johnson, Ernestine Wiedenbach. Lydia Hall, Ida Jean Orlando, Joyce Travelbee.
Week 4 brought us to discussing King and Rogers!!Roger’s Science of Unitary Human Beings — Rogers is the one that talks about the science and art of nursing
Week 5 brought us to Betty Neuman!! Neuman’s Systems Model is a flexible and adaptive model which can be applied to various aspects of nursing disciplines. Today, the model is used globally as a nursing conceptual model to guide curriculum development, research studies, and clinical practice in the full array of health-care disciplines
week 6 Discussed the strengths and limits to Leininger’s Theory.
week 7 Rosemarie Rizzo Parse’s model of Human Becoming rates quality of life from each person’s own perspective; similar to the Modeling and Role-Modeling theory. Parse’s theory differs from the traditional nursing process by not focusing on needing to fix patients but views the situation through the patient’s perspective. A goal.

The PowerPoint presentation should include at least two outside references and the textbook. The presentation should contain 2 to 4 slides per theory, for a total of 16 to 32 slides.

Create a PowerPoint presentation that addresses each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. Use clear headings that allow your professor to know which bullet you are addressing on the slides in your presentation. Support your content with at least two (2) sources and the textbook (nursing theories and practice 4th edition by smith and parker) using APA citations throughout your presentation. Make sure to cite the sources using the APA writing style for the presentation. Include a slide for your references at the end. Follow best practices for PowerPoint presentations related to text size, color, images, effects, wordiness, and multimedia enhancements.
