First, explain the two approaches to the holy (priestly and prophetic). Then, based on this information, answer the following questions: do you think Christianity is priestly or prophetic? Why? Keep in mind that religions may have both priestly and prophetic elements, but will fall in one category or the other when it comes to reaching their highest goal which, in this case, is called salvation. After you’ve read the attachment, consider the above information along with this reading from Martin Luther’s treatise on the “Freedom of a Christian” (you only need to read the first section and may stop when you reach the “Concerning Christian Liberty section). In light of these readings, do you think Christianity is a priestly or a prophetic religion and why?
