Be sure to read, and reread this article; know it thoroughly. In your review, do not include your personal opinions on the topic in general. When you critique the paper and suggest improvements, be sure to cite your sources. Pay careful attention to how you cite and use references in your essay. It can be helpful to use this paper as a general guide. Be sure to use a minimum of 5 scientific, peer-reviewed references in your essay. You may have up to one quote in your essay.

Format for Topic 1 should include:
A short (~3/4 to 1 page single spaced), general review of the main points of the paper. What is the purpose of this paper and what questions were asked? Be sure to look up the authors and give two to three sentences on the professional backgrounds of each of them.
A 2 to 2 & 1/2 page (single spaced) in-depth analysis and critique of the paper. Address each section separately and thoroughly. Focus on the positive aspects of the paper but also be sure note any shortcomings/limitations of the paper. For example, were any important, relevant research papers left out of this review? If so, which ones?
A short (~ 1/2 page single spaced) concluding statements where you talk about what questions remain unanswered and make either 1) concrete suggestions on how this paper could be improved or 2) follow-up or next steps for research or discussion on this topic.
This essay should be a total of 3-4 pages single spaced, with a minimum of five scientific references. If you prefer to double space your essay, this is fine, but double the length of each section. Submit in Word format; PDFs will not be accepted.
