Sexual Assault Among College Students with Disabilities

Section 2: In this section, you will describe the spatiotemporal and environmental
characteristics using what is available in the empirical literature. The empirical literature
consists of peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, and technical reports. News
media sources can also be used to supplement the empirical literature you use, but you cannot
only rely on media sources. For this section, you will need to incorporate the following:
a) Information on how the crime itself is conducted (e.g., modus operandi)
b) Information on how spatial risk factors may increase victimization risk (e.g., location
of high target places).
c) Information on how temporal risk factors may increase victimization (e.g., time of
day, day of week)
d) Additional environmental risk factors that the empirical literature has identified to be
pertinent to victimization (e.g., lighting)
In this section, you will need to clearly describe the studies that you used to support the
information presented (i.e., what did the researchers do and what did they find?). You will also
need to explicitly incorporate and describe concepts/theories that are relevant to the risk
factors you highlight. This part will be key as it will demonstrate your ability to synthesize the
literature and use concepts/theories to explain your crime problem. This section will range from
