“The Difference in you as a High School Student and you as a College Student.”

This 4 paragraph essay is the essay portion of your final exam. It is important that you follow directions exactly and that you turn in this essay on time so that I can give you feedback if you have to revise it.

Your topic is “The Difference in you as a High School Student and you as a College Student.” You will write a short, 3 sentence introductory paragraph with the 3rd sentence as the thesis statement in parallel form. Example thesis (3rd sentence), “While I was mostly concerned with my social life in high school, I am now mostly concerned with my scholarly life in college.”

The first body paragraph will be a description of you as a high school student, and the second body paragraph will be about you as a college student. You will address the same points as in the first body paragraph, showing the difference in the details.

The concluding paragraph will be three sentences and will sum up, give an opinion, and restate the thesis statement.

You’ll be graded on all of the grammar elements we’ve covered thus far. You must not use 2nd person pronouns, “you, your, yours” in this academic essay. I’ve said that for every essay, and almost everyone continues to write in 2nd person. You must stop! Second person is not appropriate for academic writing. There will we a significant deduction for any use of 2nd person.
