The purpose of this assignment is to engage you in hospitality social media by reflecting on the service received from a hospitality business and comparing your experience with the experience of other patrons. To complete this assignment, you will take the following steps.
Recall a recent stay at a hotel or meal at a restaurant
Go to tripadvisor.com
Create a profile
Enter a review for the establishment visited based on your prior experience
Take a screenshot of your review.
Paste the screenshot of your review to a Word document
Read at least 20 recent other reviews of the establishment provided by other customers, analyze and summarize the key themes/categories as well as the valence (positive/negative)
Elaborate how the different themes/attitudes of reviews from other customers overall impact your perception and future purchase intention of this establishment.
Provide a summary of comparing your review with reviews from others.
Write a paper following the format guideline below:
After completing the steps listed above, you will summarize your information in a Word document. The completed assignment will be a 2-3 page (double-spaced, 12 pt font), excluding title page, abstract and running head. Please follow APA guidelines, including in-text citations and a reference page. Sections of this paper include an introduction, a summary of your experience, a summary of impressions gained by reading other reviews and comparisons to yours, a conclusion, and a screenshot of your review.
