* Triple Entry Journal has 3 parts: a quote, a paraphrase, an analysis
a) Quote: Choose a quote from the chapter that you find interesting and you can relate to.
b) Paraphrase: Paraphrase the quote using your own words.
* Make sure that you use the correct citation format for the quote and the paraphrase.
c) Analysis: analyze the quote, its meaning and relevance to the chapter and/or the whole novel. Explain why you find this quote interesting, intriguing, or upsetting.
Example:
a) Quote: “For the moment, Pari sits. She shuts her eyes, as the coffee-maker begins to gurgle, and she finds behind her eyelids hills that stand soft and a sky that stands high and blue, and the sun setting behind a windmill, and always, always, hazy strings of mountains that fall and fall away on the horizon” (Hosseini 238).
b) Paraphrase- write these sentences in your own words and finish with citation— (Hosseini 238).
c) Analysis- write it in a paragraph format- read the analysis instructions above
In your analysis, you can answer the following questions:
How does the quote make me feel?
What do I think about the actions of a certain character/ characters?
Do I know about a similar situation as the one portrayed in the quote?
Have I read, watched a documentary or a movie about a similar situation?
