Issues connected to inequality and social justice have consistently dominated public and academic debates. Unequal relations/stratification in Canada afford different life chances for individuals (i.e.: education, health, social status, nutrition, treatment by the criminal justice system) and lead to certain consequences including the growth of social movements and activism engaged in achieving social equality and creating a more just society. You will be required to write a 10 page paper (typed and double-spaced) addressing and analyzing any social issue connected to unequal relations in Canadian society.
Your paper is required to discuss the following:
(1) the origins and development of any social issue/problem connected to inequity in Canadian society (the movement of a personal issue to a social problem, the emergence of social movements),
(2) the factors (i.e.: political, social, economic, legal) that exposed this issue and motivated social concern;
(3) the debates/discussions surrounding this issue/problem;
(4) the ways in which this issue/problem has and is being addressed (i.e.: activism, policy change, creation legislation, etc.), and
(5) the future outcomes of this issue.
Research Paper – General You will be required to write a research paper addressing and analyzing any social issue connected to unequal relations and its impetus for social change in Canadian society.
