This documentary is about a unique time period during the history of Ancient Egypt. This period is called The Amarna Period. (Whenever you discuss an article, documentary etc, CITE IT FIRST. For the sake of your learning, note the time period and location when you talk about history. Otherwise I don’t see if you are learning the dates and locations.
While you are watching, really focus on the ways in which built temples, their walls, the symbols and myths recorded here served to make visible the pharaohs addressed here.
1. Address the changes in religion, mythology and built visual representations throughout the reigns of the pharaohs Amenhotep and his son Akhenaten.
2. What does their effort stated in building and visual imagery serve to?
3. Pause the video at a point of some discussed visual imagery or building of temples and give specific examples.
