Go to a state website it does not have to be Arkansas
Department of Health.
Look at the website and assess what positions (nurses,
epidemiologists, breast care nurses etc.) What is their role at this health department?
Do they seem to have the staff they need.
Do some detective work. Do they have
openings? if so how many and what positions are open?
If you were a lay person
would it be easy to access this information?
Do the different disciplines seem
to work together?
Look at the website does it seem user friendly and easy to
read?
How could they improve the website?
Next pick out a specific location.
What services does that specific unit or parish provide?
Do you think there are
additional services needed? If so please explain.
Remember to use APA
formatting. Reference the website and any other references. Keep the Essay to a
minimum of 500 words but not to exceed 3 pages.
Collage: Complete a collage over an infectious disease.
This collage should include epidemiologic triad, Risk factors, Signs and
Symptoms of the infectious disease.
Treatment and evidence that supports that
treatment.
Discuss implications at all levels (primary, secondary and Tertiary)
and where (that are applicable at the, local, regional, national and global
levels.
Add information about cost of the
disease and where the funding is currently coming from (i.e. State or nation
government or WHO or World Bank).
A Collage will consist of the findings of the
above in an abstract in the center of the Collage with a pictorial of up to 8
pictures or graphs.
References should be cited on a separate page.
