We focused on policing and patrolling in the post-9/11 society in this unit. There will be two parts to this assignment. You will submit both parts in the same Word document.
Part I
The textbook discussed data-driven strategies and how they have been used by law enforcement to combat crime. Below are two types of data-driven approaches. You are to use the textbook readings, unit lesson, and outside resources to complete the assignment.
Provide a definition for each of the data-driven strategies listed below, and discuss how each strategy can be used to improve law enforcement efficiency:
CompStat policing and
intelligence-led policing.
Part II
The textbook discusses several types of patrol techniques and strategies. These are listed below. Review each type carefully in the textbook. You will choose two types of patrolling strategies that you feel would be best suited for your community. Define the two types you chose, and explain why that type of patrolling would be effective in your local area.
Random patrol
Extra patrol
Directed patrol
Aggressive patrol
Hot spot patrol
Your research paper should be a minimum of two pages in length, not counting the title or reference pages. Please use APA Style when developing this assignment. References will be required for all sources that are used. Please note that no abstract is needed.
