For the purposes of the assignment, “current” means something that has occurred within the past year. Because of the broad range of possible topics that can be covered, the following schedule of topics will be adhered to:
In a MS Word compatible format, generate a single page document presenting the following information about the current event (These headers are to be used):
Assignment
Student name / class
Date submitted
The theme of the current event (from above)
The headline of the story
The location of the event / story
An APA formatted reference entry for the story
A summary of the article drawing from details in the media report. The summary should consist of two to three short paragraphs and include and analysis by the student and a categorization of the nature of the story (see above for example categories). Attempt to answer the standard questions of who, what, when, where, and why.
An example template has been uploaded for your use. If possible please base the article from California. Article must be current (within the last year)
