Explain what the metaphor of “the greenhouse effect” means and why that metaphor is a useful way of explaining and understanding climate change.

Explain what the metaphor of “the greenhouse effect” means and why that metaphor is a useful way of explaining and understanding climate change. How does this metaphor help us understand the consequences of climate change and the possible cause(s) of climate change? Discuss the evidence for at least four (4) of the most important effects of climate change and how climate change has caused them. (Do not use the California wildfires, which at best are ambiguous.) Finally, explain the crucial concept of a tipping point, and show how one of the four effects that you have cited could be a tipping point and what the consequences of reaching that tipping point could be. (In order to respond to this part of the prompt, you will need to read the last part of the reading assignment for Week 2, where the concept of a tipping point is explained.) The Al Gore film, An Inconvenient Truth, may be a useful resource for thinking about the consequences of climate change and tipping points.
