First Writing Assignment
This assignment will be approximately 2-3 pages in length with 1” margins.
For this first assignment, you will submit an annotated bibliography of ten (10) sources you will
use for your policy memo. You will need the following number of sources:
Five (5) peer-review journal articles
Five (5) other sources, i.e., Podcast, TEDTalk, newspaper article, book, magazine article
(The Atlantic, the Economist, etc.)
An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, and documents. Each citation is
followed by a brief (usually about 150 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, i.e.,
the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy,
and quality of the sources cited.
