Below I attached the document that It needs to be revised & u may also have to add things of your own to expand on my paper.. This is what my professor said about the paper, (The document you submitted doesn’t meet the requirements for the assignment, so I’m afraid it earns a zero. If you want to revise, I would suggest returning to the assignment sheets and lecture video from the first week of class. I’m happy to help once you have a draft that addresses the rhetorical elements of a real world business document. ) I attached an example paper on how my paper is supposed to be and it should also have little comment boxes u can click on & read further about. Please do your best on this paper and if u have any questions reach out to me. my professor is a hard nosed grader.
here are the instructions to the paper :
For the second part of your Rhetorical Analysis assignment, you will expand on your draft from
last week until it is a two page, single-spaced, analysis of the rhetorical elements in the
document you’ve found and wrote about last week. You should refer to the readings, to trusted
sites like the Purdue OWL, the Sample RA Document in the module. I’ve made extensive
comments in the margins of the sample document, so be sure to read those carefully. Make
sure to explicitly identify the important elements of the speaker, audience, purpose, context,
genre, method of delivery, and rhetorical appeals of logos, ethos, and pathos.
This expanded draft should be much more formal than your first, meaning it should have a title,
single spaced paragraphs, and you should allow yourself time to read over the document for
grammar and cohesion before you submit it. Remember that rhetorical analyses generally only
appear in academic settings, meaning that they are written in a very dry, dull style and repeat
things as often as needed.
Below are expanded versions of the questions you already answered for last week’s activity.
There are also questions further down the page to help get your started or go deeper with your
analysis. Be aware that your paper should not be a formulaic answering of these questions, and
that a truly effective rhetorical analysis makes connections between various rhetorical elements.
1. Who is the writer/author of the document?
How is this person representing themselves or their company in the document? What might we
safely assume about them? How does this influence the way the audience might understand the
document?
2. Who is the audience (or audiences) of the document?
Who is the primary audience? Who might (directly or indirectly or both) be affected by this
document? Who might need to use or access the information? What might we safely assume
about them? Who is the secondary audience? Is the author of this document the most effective
person to deliver this message for this audience?
3. What is the purpose of the document?
For what purpose or purposes was the document written? What is the document hoping to
achieve? What is the motivation for this document? (Most documents have obvious purposes
and more subtle purposes. Think about both kinds.) Based on what you know about the
audience, does the author achieve their purpose?
4. What is the context for the document you are analyzing?
What is the kairotic moment in which this document will be used or that called for this document
to be created? How did this influence the way that the author wrote this document? How does
this influence the way the audience might read/use this document?
