Directions:
Select an NPO with an operating budget of $5 million or more.
Research the NPOs’ past filings through Charity Navigator, Guidestar or Charity Watch (links under the Study section).
Write a memo to the Board that specifies the Board’s principles of due diligence, the quarterly/annual processes that the Treasurer’s Finance Committee will take to validate management’s accounting and finance reports. End with a chart that specifies the dates of government filings along with when the Board Treasurer must receive the draft forms for review.
